Winterized

Determined to keep my running routine on track through the holidays, I faced a choice:  winterize or surrender.  

Iowa is cold and dangerously icy right now.  Negative temperatures, ice covering everything - enough to necessitate cuddles in front of the fire and cocoa after walks in the winter wonderland.  Just as it's supposed to be at Christmas.

So, with the help of the latest Runner's World and 20 or so of these, in half-inch size:

I created these!

Ice and snow-ready trail shoes.  And they work.  The gravel road outside my parents' home has turned to sheer ice, yet I was steady and stable as I tromped through the cold with my three darling dogs beside me.  Now, if only Santa would deliver these hip runner-friendly earphones, I'd be set for the season.  Or at least until I return to the beaches of Monterey.
