Gloomy days into lemonade


The weather has turned from gorgeous to gloomy, and I'm already missing the sunshine.  I know I shouldn't complain, but a girl gets used to a certain standard of living, ya know?  Anyhow, thoughts of our soon-to-blossom lemon tree really perk me up on gray days.  I took this photo in February or March of last year.  Hopefully in the next month or so there will be lemons again from this pretty little tree behind our patio.

Yes.  We're spoiled here on the Central Coast.  But at least we admit it, right?  Let's count the ways to use lemons:  a sliver into water, a sliver in a delicious non-water drink, a squeeze over salmon, some juice into fresh bruschetta, lemon marmalade on warm toast, smothering shrimp and octopus in ceviche...
